Let’s talk about the recipe:
A new recipe with few steps to follow has arrived. On this occasion, an extraordinary bread with a soft and spongy texture, simple preparation and few ingredients. Being easy and uncomplicated to prepare, but with enough time, since it requires two necessary rising moments.
About the mold:
Although on this occasion I have used a bread crumb mold because the final square shape obtained is practical for me, although it is not essential. Therefore, it is completely modifiable, another good option being a pudding mold for example. However, always keep the size in mind to calculate the baking time it needs.
About the ingredients:
To make this bread, 0000 flour was used, commonly known in other countries as all-purpose flour. Generally, depending on the brand, it can absorb more or less liquid. Therefore, I recommend incorporating it gradually and as required. As a result, keep in mind that the smaller the volume, the smaller the final product.
The fat used in this opportunity is butter. But you can replace it with margarine, sunflower oil, olive oil, coconut oil, etc. Even so, depending on what fat is used, it can modify the final texture and flavor of the bread. So, always consider the type and kind of ingredient when making changes to the recipe.
Likewise, you have the option of using milk, plant based milk or simply water. As well as using a mixture of them, that is half-and-half. Keep in mind that substituting water alone will result in a texture close to rustic. Therefore, take into account the details when modifying an ingredient in a timely manner, no matter how minimal they may be.
Lastly, and not least, the difference with other bread recipes is that this one uses eggs. The egg in the dough acts as an emulsifier (elasticity) and binder (binding). Also coloring and moisture (abundant fluffy crumb). Of course, its replacement is possible and the desired final result is close, but it will not be exactly the same.
About Cooking:
Finally, once the dough has risen, it is cooked in a preheated oven at a medium-low temperature. Once the bread is baked, immediately unmold it onto a rack to prevent it from getting wet. For a good result, it is recommended to first adapt the cooking according to the type of oven you have and second, that the cooking is punctual and does not dry out.
